Michael E. Hinchliffe
Executive Director

Michael Hinchliffe is the Executive Director of the Institute for Domestic & International Affairs, Inc. He has been involved in civics education for more than ten years, and has traveled extensively to promote civics education and engagement. His overseas experiences include activist training programs in Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa, and he has attended and participated in Model United Nations conferences throughout the United States and the Dominican Republic. He is the treasurer of the Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation of New Jersey. He is also a member of the National Council on the Social Studies, and the Social Studies Education Consortium.

Mr. Hinchliffe received his BA in political science from Rutgers College and an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

Michael Cohen
Board Member

Michael Cohen has served on the Board of Directors since 2004 and has been involved with the organization in various capacities since 1998. In addition to his work with IDIA, Michael is an attorney at the firm Winne, Banta, Hetherington, Basralian & Kahn, P.C. in Hackensack, New Jersey where he works in the commercial litigation department. Previously, he served as a Law Clerk to a New Jersey judge and worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. He has written previously about federal sentencing policy, the efficacy of New Jersey's "Drowsey Driver" law, and broadcast indecency regulation. His work has been published in the Seton Hall Legislative Journal.

Michael received his B.A. from Rutgers College where he majored in political science and history, and served as an undergraduate associate at the Eagleton Institute of Politics. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University Law School. There, he participated in Seton Hall's Center for Social Justice Housing and Homelessness Clinic where he assisted a variety of inner-city clients with tenancy issues, and served as a Note and Comment Editor for the school's Legislative Journal.

Arpan Dasgupta
Board Member

Arpan Dasgupta has served on the Board of Directors of IDIA in his current capacity since December 2008. Arpan's previously served on the board of Directors from 2002-2004. He also served in various volunteer staff capacities from 2000-2004.

Currently, he is a special assistant in the Deputy Executive Director's Office at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. His previous experience includes positions at the local, state, and federal level. Prior to joining the Port Authority, Arpan previously worked in the New Jersey Governor's Office of Economic Growth, Office of Senator Jon Corzine, and Office of Senator Robert Menendez.

Arpan received his BA in political science from Rutgers College and was also an Eagleton Undergraduate Associate.

Adam Gold
Conference Advisor

Adam Gold is a Conference Advisor for the Institute for Domestic and International Affairs, Inc., and is a recent graduate of Rutgers University. Mr. Gold currently works in the Governor's Office of New Jersey and has been participating in model UN and congress conferences for the past 8 years. His participation in IDIA conferences has included serving as Staff Director of RUMUN 2003 and Director of the Taiwanese Cabinet, Presidential Cabinet, National Security Council, Economic Commission on Latin America and the Caribbean, and Conference Simulation Services.

Anthony McMichael
Conference Registration Coordinator

Anthony McMichael is a Rutgers college junior majoring in Political Science, with a minor in History. He has been involved with Model Congress and Model United Nations programs for the past seven years. Anthony has participated in seven IDIA conferences, serving as a committee Director for four conferences, including the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure at RMC 2004, the Historic House Judiciary Committee on Watergate at RMC 2005, and the Economic and Financial Committees at RUMUN 2004 and RUMUN 2005. In addition to his involvement in RMC and RUMUN, Anthony also serves as the Political Director of the Rutgers College Republicans.

Trisha Jhunjhnuwala
Secretary-General

PhilMUN 2011 will be Trisha Jhunjhnuwala’s 6th IDIA conference on staff. She has attended both high school and collegiate Model UN conferences ever since her freshman year of high school, making 17th MUN Conference. Now a junior at Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences, Trisha is double majoring in Philosophy and
Comparative Literature, with minors in French and Political Science. She hopes to one day become an international lawyer. Besides IDIA, Trisha is also part of Alpha
Phi Omega, a national co-ed service fraternity, in which she participates in many community service events, such as Habitat for Humanity, the AIDS Walk for the
Cure, and Dance Marathon. When she is not doing IDIA conferences or community service, Trisha enjoys reading, writing, and being outside. She is very excited to be Secretary General this year and is hoping to make it a memorable experience for all!

Andrew Woods
Director of Administration

Throughout high school, Andrew participated in Model United Nations conferences such as Rutgers Model United Nations and Philadelphia Model United Nations.
Now a sophomore at Rutgers, Andrew is double majoring in exercise physiology and nutrition. PhilMUN 2011 will mark his fourth time as an IDIA staff member. When Andrew is not participating in Model United Nations, he enjoys playing ice hockey for the Rutgers Scarlet Ice Knights, as well as being an active member of the Jewish- Medical Club.

Meena Ramachandra
Staff Director

Ever since her sophomore year in high school, Meena Ramachandrah as loyally devoted her time and commitment to Model United Nations. At a college level, she made it a point to join IDIA from the start of her freshman year. Her experiences in Conference Simulation Services and Conference Logistics and Administration have given her a strong foundation in realizing all that IDIA has to offer; only to be strengthened by her time spent as a Director.� After serving as a Directer and Assistant Director for over four conferences, Meena knows that guiding students through debate and bringing to life global affairs is a true passion.� She is currently in the Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and a member of the professional pharmacy fraternity Alpha Zeta Omega.� As an advocate of her pharmacy profession, Meena is extensively involved in many philanthropic activities and dedicates her time to events such as the annual Parkinson's Walk for a Cure, Adopt a Family, and the Pharmacy Big Brother Big Sister Mentoring Program.� It is the culmination of her interests and passion that drives Meena to continue to give back to her community and IDIA.
