The Affiliated Conferences Program (ACP) sponsored by the Institute for Domestic & International Affairs (IDIA) provides assistance to high schools that wish to establish Model UN or Model Congress conferences in their schools and communities or already have such a program in place. IDIA will provide staff, preparatory training and materials, and logistical support for your conference, including recruitment of participants, as well as provide the background information you will need to start a conference at your school.
IDIA actively supports high school-sponsored conferences attended by more than 1,000 students each year. This support entails everything from overall supervision of the conference, to merely providing guidance and advice. Our conference staff will operate your committees, or will train your students to direct their own committees. The hallmark of the Affiliated Conferences Program is that it is designed to be managed entirely by your high school students. The ACP is an educational opportunity not only for Model United Nations and Model Congress participants, but also for student leaders.
The logistical support IDIA can provide for your conference includes everything from help planning the conference, including recruitment of participants, registration and conference management, to helping with the conference as it happens. This logistical support can be provided to a high school with no previous experience running a Model UN or Model Congress program or to a high school with an already existing program.
If your school is interested in running a Model UN or Model Congress program, or already runs one and wants IDIA support in doing so, please contact us.
